On tomorrow the Supreme Court of these United States of America will rule on the "Obama Care" case. Where do you stand? Are you in the middle, on the fringes, where Do you stand?
If tomorrow is your turn to have a serious illness is your health cared for? Do you have insurance through your job or perhaps through the job of your mate or parents? Maybe you receive medicare or medicaid, or perhaps you're like thousands of Americans who for many various reasons have no coverage at all. We have people who've worked for years and yet have no health insurance. These people are a paycheck away from disaster should they get seriously ill. As much as I'm glad to be an American I must acknowledge we still have many mountains to climb, rivers to swim, and valleys to go through. We are still very much a country of haves and have nots which in itself is not a bad thing. It's actually a good thing as long as the haves show compassion with respect for the have nots who are doing an honest days work to help the continued growth of this country and thus the growth of us all. How about it; is your health cared for and do you care about the health of your neighbor? Have a cup of java or tea and think about where we're going and what you can do to help us get there. © KC and Shortie, June 27, 2012 http://shortiesvintagetreasures.com/1/feed http://www.shortiesvintagetreasures.com http://twitter.com/#!/shortietreasure

Vintage Lionel Trains Caboose How time does go by. About 10 months ago I found my Mom near death, put her on a plane and brought her home with me and to the hospital. I had visited in March and had no idea she was not well. At age 84 mother had worked until May, 2011 when school was out for summer. What I found in May was quite frightening as were the days and months that lay ahead. God is good. We were given wonderful medical staff in a terrific hospital. Doctors did not hide the fact they held little or no hope for any recovery. We finally got a diagnosis of Lymphoma and although there is no cure, at this time after finishing the second round of chemotherapy mom is in remission. The words thankful, gratitude, humbled, do not begin to describe how I feel. Times were hard, not over yet but despite the mounting bills I am thankful for the here and now. Isn't it amazing how much we can learn from adversity and trial? I know many of you know just what I'm talking about because you've either been there or are there now. Let us pray for the strength of one another. So happy to be back here at Shorties Thoughts to share with you. We invite you to stop by http://www.shortiesvintagetreasures.com/ to see what we have to offer. We would also love to hear from you and share your experiences.
