Hello Again from Shorties Vintage Treasures,
Some of you may have missed us from eBay. We have moved to our own site and you're invited to visit. It is with joy that we are writing to you again. We are excited to welcome spring although winter here in Pacific Northwest has not been as rough as in many other places. Still it's good to know that, at least as far as the calendar is concerned, winter is over. The time is now for spring cleaning, planing for and planting the garden, taking off those bulky winter clothes, (although we never completely retire them here), one still get a sense of freedom just thinking about the hope of some sunny dry days to come. New things are coming to Shorties Vintage Treasures. Just look at this beautiful Ceramic Egg which is signed "Limoges". Also there is this lovely mug in Shorties Kitchen along with this vintage wood Spoon and Fork set. I can remember when every other body had these hanging in their kitchen as part of the decor. We were in Alaska earlier this month and of course there is another lifestyle. It was really strange one day while watching the news we heard the newscaster issue a warning. The warning said to be on the lookout for Bears as they were then waking up and would be coming in looking for food. Needless to say we were glad to not be staying much longer, as we would not want to be the food. It really is different when you live someplace, how you adjust to whatever dangers and lifestyles without much thought. We have family living there and have many years ago lived there ourselves. Back then we had no car and I can remember walking through the snow to go to buy groceries, standing at the bus stop waiting to catch the bus, and never having a thought of fear. Thank God I never saw a bear or moose. Certainly the moose are also more prone to come into the neighbourhoods now than back then. In fact just about 2 weeks ago a little six year old boy was attacked by a moose just after getting off the School Bus. He has since been released from the hospital. We love Alaska and enjoy visiting family and friends, also looking for treasures, but I must say it is good to be back to all the rain here in Seattle. For a recipe enjoyed by many in Alaska, visit Shorties Kitchen. This recipe takes very little time to prepare. Add a salad and/or some fruit and you're in business. Happy Springing, KC & Shortie

Had great time at dentist yesterday. Being one of those people who has a tremendous fear of dentist, I only go when I seem to have no choice.
The small town I grew up in had no dentist. As a matter of fact my grandmother had a gum disease but I had no idea there was a dentist involve. We brushed with Baking Soda and that was that. Honestly I saw very few people with rotten teeth, but then again there weren't very many people to see. There was one family with a lot of kids and it seemed all of them had rotten teeth. O well, before I started rambling I was going to say I am actually looking forward to my next appointment on the 12th. Can't say that I've ever said that before. I've come a long way baby.;) Did you get someone in an April Fool's joke? When I was a younger one of my favorite things to do was to play April Fool's jokes on my friends and family. Been a few years since I've done that but today I was determined to get someone. Called one of my daughters who doesn't live here. Told her I'd just won a ticket for two to China. She was so excited and really emoted, was ready to go. Then I let her have it. April Fool! What a good laugh we had. Enjoy your children whatever their ages, and children enjoy your parents whatever their ages. We only come this way once so let's build good memories together.
